Britannia Row Productions is a world class audio rental company supplying high end audio equipment and skilled audio engineers to global music tours, sporting and corporate events. Now part of the US based Clair Global group of companies our business and impressive client list is growing, and due to a recent internal promotion, we require a Supervisor to join our Prep and De-Prep team.

The Prep and De-prep department is responsible for combining equipment from other internal departments and constructing bespoke audio systems for our valued clients. It is the department’s responsibility to ensure that all equipment is prepared, presented, and assembled to our exacting standards and fit for use at our live events.

What will you do?

You will support every aspect of the preparation of audio equipment for live concerts, tours, and corporate events. Co-operating with other warehouse departments, Heads of Department, and the Warehouse Manager to provide efficient, high quality bespoke audio systems for our clients and offer professional support to Freelance and Client Crew. You will also assist the Head of Department (HOD) directly by supervising more junior members of the department and any ongoing prep or de-prep activities. Additionally, you will take full responsibility for the smooth running of the department in the HODs absence.

The main job tasks will be:

Planning

  • To hold regular weekly meetings with the HOD and the Experienced Technicians to discuss upcoming projects
  • Liaising daily with Prep and De-prep HOD, and the Warehouse Manager helping to organise each team of people (Including warehouse operatives and apprentices) required to handle the requirements of each job and its deadlines
  • Liaising daily with other Head of Departments (HOD’s) to ensure that equipment is ready for pre- prep and prep
  • Helping to organise the pre-prep and de-prep area and ensuring space is available and allocated for each prep
  • Monitoring and prioritising internal transfers of equipment to check in/out with the help of HOD’s
  • Help and support HOD to overcome potential issues with ongoing preps
  • Analysing and interpreting technical documents provided by clients, to build systems to specification

Prep and De-prep

  • Checking that prep and de-prep area is clean, tidy & safe
  • Managing equipment preparation throughout pre-prep and prep process, always ensuring ahigh standard of work
  • Liaising with freelance crew and client crew, ensuring that prepared equipment systems are to the correct specification, whilst also reporting back to HODs, the Prep Manager and Operations Coordinators any requested changes
  • Ensure regulatory standards (UK/EU specific) are  adhered to, to include electrical safety awareness and PAT testing
  • Helping ensure that prep is running smoothly, and that deadlines are met
  • Corralling and reporting on the whereabouts of any client equipment and goods to Operations Coordinator immediately during de-prep
  • Stock control using current rental management software (training will be given)
  • Supervising, managing and training of Warehouse Operatives, Apprentices and Prep and De-Prep Technicians
  • Supervise the de-prep of equipment returning to the warehouse, ensuring that all staff assigned to de-prep are prioritising equipment needed for future jobs and that equipment is being returned to the correct places and that any equipment to be held together does not get de-prepped
  • Assist the HOD in pushing the rest of the department to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organisation in the prep/de-prep and rack storage area
  • Assisting the HOD to manage the stock levels of any prep related equipment and parts – for example internal rack cables and panel systems
  • Any other task deemed necessary for the smooth running of the department and Warehouse

Who are we looking for:

  • You will have a strong understanding of professional audio systems and hands-on experience of setting-up, testing and using the systems
  • Someone with a general understanding of the live entertainment industry
  • You will have a general understanding of network data and cable connection systems
  • Someone who has previous leadership experience or a desire to move into a ‘team-leader’ role
  • You will be committed to your own and your team’s professional development, with a “can-do” attitude
  • Someone with flexibility to working hours, with the ability to work extended hours and weekends to fulfil the needs of the business
  • You will have the right to work in the U.K

*Our operating hours are 8am to 8pm. Normal working hours are 10amto 6pm Monday to Friday, but you will be expected to work some shifts (8am-4pm and 12pm-8pm), some weekends and additional hours as the business requires.
