Salary:                         £25,000 - £27,000 Subject to experience

Britannia Row Productions is a World Class Audio rental company providing innovative and high-end audio equipment, skilled audio engineers and technicians for global music tours and events, including sports and corporate events. We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our fast-paced workshop. You will be a collaborative team worker. You will need a pro-active can-do attitude, a resourceful problem solver and able to calmly adapt to changing business needs. You will need to be confident, reliable, and take an organised approach to work.  

A background in handmade furniture production or experience in the live events industry would be advantageous.

 

Your main responsibilities are:

  • Metalwork - This can range from cutting, grinding, drilling & welding of steel and aluminum.
  • Woodwork - Cutting, sanding, routing, and filling
  • Product finishing - Spray painting and powder coating
  • Flight case repairs– Working on trims, catches, handles hinges and castors
  • Repairs to be carried out throughout offices and warehouse when necessary
  • Ensure all work is conducted to the highest safety and quality standards
  • Participate in maintaining the quality control of cases and racks
  • Overseeing the work of less experienced staff, including training & sharing knowledge
  • Warehouse inspections and reporting of faults
  • Maintaining tools and specialist equipment (for example, repairing warehouse tools/equipment, CNC faults, laser engraver faults, 3D printing faults)
  • Designing using CAD, operating CAM and CNC operation
  • Setting up equipment - 3D Printing, Laser cutting and engraving machines
  • Ground works (repairs and installs)

What skills and experience do we want?

  • Able to work both as part of a team and independently, meeting tight deadlines
  • Ability to think outside the box and troubleshoot problems
  • Basic knowledge of plumping systems
  • Carpentry skills, with a good working knowledge of carpentry tools and processes
  • Metalworking skills, with a good working knowledge of metalworking tools and processes
  • Welding TIG/MIG
  • Proficient with power tools
  • Experience in using a spray booth, with knowledge of finishing techniques
  • A good knowledge of Computer Aided Design (CAD)
  • A good knowledge of Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM)
  • Experience in CNC operation
  • Knowledge of 3D printing processes
  • Knowledge of Laser engraving processes


Training will be provided if required

Our operating hours are 8am to 8pm. Normal working hours are 10am to 6pm Monday to Friday, but you will be expected to work some weekends and additional hours as the business requires. Overtime is paid at single rate Monday to Friday and at time and a half at weekends.
