Britannia Row provided its expertise at the recent Mitel & MLB Present London Series 2019. The historic Major League Baseball clash, which took place at London Stadium, saw the Boston Red Sox go head to head with New York Yankees.
Collaborating with MLB and CSM, Promoter of the London Series, Brit Row provided a technically accurate sound solution across the two-day series.
This ensured the sell-out crowds enjoyed flawless audio from the scores and in-game entertainment, to headline performances from Tom Walker, Craig David and The Kingdom Choir.
Brit Row was briefed to provide a pit-based PA system. Ensuring no sightlines were interfered with, the audio crew opted for a ground-stacked design using KARA, with KF20 subs and KARA tops for the baseball field. At the main FOH area towards with back of the stadium seating, a Yamaha Rio Dante network was utilised, with two Yamaha CL5 consoles.
For the musical mixes, a DiGiCo SD10 was chosen, along with 18 Sennheiser hand held radio mics, 12 channels of IEMs and L-Acoustics X8 wedges, which were used on the field.
Brit Row Account Manager, Tom Brown, said: “American sport productions are always very good at understanding the need for technological footprints at these large events. They have high expectations and are familiar with the tech required.
“The games went very well on our side thanks to sufficient pre-production time. This allowed us to ensure that we achieved the right connectivity around the stadium, with fibre patching locations all agreed in advance.
“For the infrastructure around the venue, we used the new Riedel Bolero Wireless Intercom System which interfaced with the broadcast comms. It’s a very powerful bit of kit and gave us excellent coverage throughout the venue.”
