Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds 18 month world tour came to an exciting close last night with a final show at London's Brixton Academy.

Not only was it the last show of the tour, but it was also the first ever headline show for Noel and his band at the venue.

Kicking off on the 3rd March 2015 at Belfast's Odyssey Arena, Noel's 'Chasing Yesterday' tour has consisted of 125 shows and festivals in 27 countries supporting the 2015 'Chasing Yesterday' album. 70 shows in Europe,11 in Asia, 33 in North America, 6 in South America and 5 in Oceania.

The Brixton Academy tour finale kicked of with support from fellow Mancunian, guitarist and songwriter Jeff Wootton, who had this year released his debut solo album 'The Way the Light',  featuring a unique collaboration with British artist Damien Hirst. Jeff had previously collaborated with Noel in 2015 appearing in Noel's video 'Ballad of the Mighty I', which was released on 12 January 2015. Jeff had also joined Noel for a TV performance of the song Riverman on the Channel 4 programme Chatty Man.

After Jeff and his band performed their set Noel and the High Flying Birds then took to the Brixton stage, with Noel being joined at separate points by some special guests. Firstly in the form of Johnny Marr who 7 songs in played guitar on Oasis’ 1995 classic ‘Champagne Supernova', before the pair performed ‘Ballad Of The Mighty I’, the track Marr guests on for the second Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds album ‘Chasing Yesterday’.

The next special guest appearance was saved for the encore to the show, when Noel's friend and neighbour Paul Weller took centre stage with Noel providing backing vocals for the Jam classic' Pretty Green', followed by 'Town Called Malice'.

The rapturous Brixton crowd couldn't have asked for more and as the show and the tour closed, they showed their satisfaction as they poured out of the O2 Brixton Academy singing in unison their rendition of 'Wonderwall'.

‘Audio technician Warren Grimsley who has been on the project for 21 months since going into rehearsals in late January 2015, commented after the show – ‘We have taken Britannia Row Productions equipment, which included an SSL Live 500 console, all over the world  – UK, Europe, USA, South America and Australasia and revisited some territories two and three times. We have not had one audio failure of any kind in almost two years’.
